In the customised enclosure market, CES-Innovativ offers complete, cost-effective solutions for realising new enclosures for a wide variety of application fields.
The accompanying picture shows a card reader unit which is installed in public areas with a high potential of vandalism. The main body is manufactured utilising world-class PMP technology, which eliminates cost intensive moulds and tools and saves manufacturing time. All plastic parts are made with this system and can be changed at any stage of the manufacturing process without incurring high costs.
The main body is made of 3 and 4 mm PS UL-VO in anthracite. The plastic enclosure contains all necessary standoffs and keyholes for printed circuit boards, as well as some additional push-outs for future cabling. For additional protection against vandalism, the plastic enclosure is encased in 0,5 mm stainless steel. A 2 mm thick acrylic window is then added into this stainless steel mantle.
After brushing, one-coloured screen printing is applied and the whole enclosure surface is varnished with a transparent UL stabilised veneer. CES then adds the navy blue card reader bezel to the front.
Other than the keypad display in the front, which is provided by the customer, all necessary manufacturing steps – 3D designs, prototyping and serial production in plastic, sheet metal, screen-printing and surface treatments – are completed in-house at CES. The company supplies this type of specialised vandal-proof plastic/sheet metal enclosure in quantities of up to 2500 units per month.
