Andor’s Revolution family of microscopic products provide the framework for laser-illuminated microscopy solutions, including spinning disk confocal, TIRFM and photo-bleach and activation modalities.
There has been significant growth in the popularity of confocal microscopy due to the relative ease with which extremely high-quality images can be obtained from specimens. Confocal microscopy offers several advantages over conventional microscopy such as better imaging through the rejection of out-of-focus information, the ability to collect serial optical sections from thick specimens and the ability to control the depth of field.
In the case of TIRFM, extremely high contrast, low background images are produced, suitable for detection with the EMCCD iXon camera. Microscopes from Leica, Nikon, Olympus, TILL and Zeiss are supported.
