To meet the increasing requirements for better airflow within high density server and storage cabinets, Spectra-Strip introduced its 169 series 'Ultra 160 Round 'N' Flat' cable for applications requiring very tight impedance stability, low skew, mass termination, and a highly flexible round cable for ease of cable routing.
Designed for Ultra 160 LVD operation, the cable features 123 Ohm nominal impedance, low pair to pair skew, 30 AWG stranded conductor, and TPE dielectric. It is intended to offer the industry the best of two SCSI interconnection methodologies: mass termination, plus the electrical consistency of traditional extruded jacket round cable constructions.
The 169 series cable features a machine wrapped polyester tape over the cable core and an extruded, pliable PVC jacket to uniformly compact the cable into a round bundle, thus significantly reducing the impedance and skew variation found in manually-constructed versions. The mass termination feature consists of 4,45 cm flat IDC sections that can be programmed to appear anywhere along the cable length.
