Advantech’s ADAM-6000 Ethernet I/O modules now feature peer-to-peer functionality, allowing them to be more intelligent and convenient to use. They also offer a unique GCL (graphical condition logic), which allows operation on the same hardware. The new modules also provide a variety of input/output options, a simple PLC ladder logic, logic cascade and feedback function, online monitoring of running status, the ability to connect to SCADA/HMI software, a built-in Web server, and a fast response time of less than 1,5 ms.
Peer-to-peer enabled modules actively update input channel status to specific output channels. In the past, a controller was required to read data from Ethernet input modules to Ethernet output modules (without peer-to-peer). Now that the data will transfer automatically, no controller or programming is required.
Advantech’s unique GCL design provides their Ethernet I/O modules with extensive control capabilities. Users can define the control logic rules by adjusting the graphical configuration environment through utility software, and downloading defined logic rules to the modules, which will execute the logic rule automatically just like a simple PLC, but with a much lower cost, less maintenance effort, and in a more compact size.
Moreover, GCL supports flexible logic cascade functions locally or over Ethernet with which users can construct logic architecture for various applications. During the logic execution, users can not only monitor running status online, but also access the data though SCADA/HMI or a Web browser.
