New from Elma is a 19-inch cooling fin extrusion with a width of 42 HP and which matches standard height units (U).

Each and every fin is built upon a 1,5 HP pitch (7,62 mm) to guarantee enough space in between for the screw heads. Therefore the fins do not have to be modified for mounting; it is sufficient to drill the holes from the flat side. Hence the cooling fin extrusions can be used directly as front and/or rear panels in cabinets and subracks.

Depending upon customer requests, the cooling fin extrusions can be conductively finished and additional EMC brackets can be mounted onto the sides to guarantee safe contacting with the chassis. This simultaneously provides active heat dissipation and EMC protection.

Elma also offers the possibility to carry out thermoanalysis of cabinets and subracks.Critical configurations can be recognised during the design phase, before the setup of the first prototype begins.
