The new Interface Terminal from OKW is designed to meet growing demands in the field of data visualisation for man-machine interfaces.
It is tailored to the more and more widespread adoption of touch-screen technology and enables enhanced mobility and independence by allowing the user to decide whether to use the device as a mobile or stationary unit.
The Interface Terminal is a complex system with which several case versions can be realised. The foundation of the system is the basic housing, consisting of the top and bottom case parts. For mobile, cable-linked use, the lower part is available not only as a closed version but also with a battery compartment for five 1,5 V AA batteries.
For ease of operation, the styling of the handle area is flat and the top part of the housing can be substituted with an aluminium front plate. The case can be mounted on the base either invisibly by means of self-tapping screws or by a simple snap-in mechanism for data transmission or for a power supply for charging. Unauthorised removal can be prevented at any time by means of two spagnolet locks. When the base is used, the operating panel is ergonomically inclined by 20° – in portrait or landscape orientation, depending on requirements.
The cases are available in off-white and in the following dimensions: the desktop/wall-mounted version measures 165 x 225 x 104 mm (L x W x H); the mobile version with/without battery compartment is 165 x 225 x 38 mm; and the ‘mobile with loading station’ version has dimensions of 165 x 225 x 114 mm. The recessed operating area on the front surface is ideally suited for integrating membrane keyboards, graphic overlays, displays or touch screens.
