Souriau has more than doubled its 8T range of connectors for the 38999 military standards, to meet the increasing requirement for low profile and EMI shielding.
The 8T range now features 11 shell types and 43 layouts for high-density connectors up to 128 contacts. The connectors employ a bayonet locking system to achieve endurance of 500 mating/unmating operations, and can withstand shock levels of 300 G for 3 milliseconds.
Contact resistance ranges from 3,8 to 14,6 mW, with current ratings from 5 to 23 A per contact. The connectors feature insulation resistance greater than 5000 MW at 500 V d.c. and can operate in temperatures up to 200°C.
Typical applications include civil and military aerospace, communications equipments, ballistic missiles and weapon systems, and medical instrumentation.
