Compact piezoceramic speaker

27 May 2009 Passive Components

Sonitron has designed a new piezoceramic speaker specifically for applications where space is limited and high sound quality is required. The new model features a broad frequency range combined with small dimensions, and is targeted at multimedia applications.

The SPS-6555-03 has a frequency range of 300 Hz to 20 kHz with total harmonic distortion (THD) of less than 1,5%. Maximum sound pressure level (SPL) is 83 dB at 1 metre with a voltage of 60 V peak-to-peak, and sensitivity is 73 dB (SPL at 10 cm for 1 VRMS).

The speaker has an impedance of 333 Ω and an operating voltage of 5–60 V. It weighs 5 grams and operates over the temperature range of -20°C to +60°C.
