High-speed cable assembly

27 May 2009 Interconnection

Samtec has expanded its cable line with a new high-speed cable assembly featuring its rugged Q2 connector system and a patent-pending cable termination designed to maximise signal integrity.

The Q2 direct termination cable assembly (Q2DA series) employs the Q2 series 0,635 mm pitch high-speed sockets on both ends and 50 single-ended routing via high-performance 36 AWG micro coax high-speed cable. The patent-pending cable termination enhances signal integrity by eliminating the need for a transition board and results in reduced overall system cost.

Available with 26 or 52 total pins per bank, this system mates with all QMS series Q2 terminal strips including surface mount, edge mount and right angle orientations. It also enjoys all the features and benefits of the rugged Q2 series connectors including increased insertion depth and an integral metal place for power or ground. This RoHS compliant assembly also offers standard guide post holes for ease of alignment.
