Low-noise programmable divider

New from Hittite is an ultra low-noise programmable divider designed for use in signal generation architectures found in test equipment, laboratory systems and various military applications that operate in the frequency range of 0,1 to 6,5 GHz.

The HMC705LP4E is a GaAs HBT programmable divider that can divide by any integer value from N=1 to N=17 for input frequencies up to 6,5 GHz. The device’s high frequency operation along with its low noise floor makes it very useful in high performance, fast settling synthesiser architectures. The phase noise for the divide-by-17 state is better than -153 dBc/Hz at offset frequencies greater than 100 kHz.

The HMC705LP4E is housed in a 4 x 4 mm RoHS compliant QFN leadless SMT package and is specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C.
