The new Unitec range of cases from OKW is characterised by two operating panels with different inclinations at right angles to each other.

The diagonal areas have inclination angles of 18° and 72° and, depending on the application, can be used for operating purposes or for reading of data.

The range was designed as a three-part unit and consists of a top part, a bottom part and a rear-facing front part in the standard colour of off-white, made of ABS. The case dimensions are 148 x 210 x 80/25 mm (W x D x H). In order to satisfy individual customer requirements, the top and front parts are available with recesses of different depths: with an all-over operating area with a depth of only 0,6 mm (eg, for overlay foils) or with two separate defined areas (1,4 mm deep) for membrane keyboards. Here it is up to the user to decide whether to use no operating area at all, only one area (on the front or on the back) or even both areas for membrane keyboards.

This range of cases is highly flexible in its assembly capability, as the printed circuit boards can be positioned in any of the three individual parts. Since the operating panels are positioned at right angles to each other, it is possible to install electronics and interfaces as complete ready-made packages.

To assemble this new range of wall-mounted and desktop cases, one simply hooks the top part into the appropriate front part; the unit is then placed on top of the bottom part and secured with two self-tapping screws. This eases the assembly process and is also visually attractive, since the fixing elements are thus entirely outside the field of view. The bottom part of the case already has matching installation bays as standard for battery compartments (in the range of accessories) with three or five 1,5 V AA batteries, or completely closed for an incoming power supply. The portfolio is completed by a two-part bracket for wall mounted applications.
