If individual solutions are required, OKW can offer a wide range of in-company services in order to modify its standard products quickly and cheaply in accordance with specific customer needs.
The range of services offered comprises several options for reworking, for example drilling holes, cutting threads, countersinking, milling, stamping as well as gluing additional spacer sleeves and pillars in place for mounting PCBs. Furthermore, OKW cases and tuning knobs can be given a custom appearance by means of screen/tampo printing as well as new surface finishes (eg, soft-touch, soft-look, metallic colours, water transfer printing, UV lacquer etc).
If the parts are required to have special properties, such as resistance to chemicals, non-flammability or continuous, solid colours, OKW can also produce the cases in other materials and colours. A further useful service is the acquisition and installation of accessories, such as screwed cable glands, display screens, connectors, bushings, membrane keyboards, digital printing films etc, which can also be made ready immediately on request.
Where EMC protection of electronics is required from external interference as well as increased internal emission noise, OKW can offer an aluminium coating (AlvaCoat) for the inside of the case, which is subsequently applied in a high vacuum with the aid of a vapour-plating system.
If all of these possible variations still do not meet customer requirements, there is the further possibility of having a case ‘made to measure’. This can be done using different types of production: for smaller quantities the thermoforming process is practical; here, deep-drawn and flexible parts are individually formed from laminated material. For medium batch sizes, changeable inserts are possible for standard forms, and for larger quantities (up to 15 000 units) OKW can produce low-cost injection moulding tools made of steel, direct steel or aluminium.
The range of services is rounded off by high-quality sales packaging, such as printed labels or advertising stickers in accordance with individual design specifications.
