Hirose’s MS-166 connector has been developed for inspection of high-frequency circuits used in portable terminals. Verification of the circuit performance is accomplished by simply inserting the external plug in the board-mounted receptacle. This action redirects the circuit from its normal condition to the plug side.
To meet with the demand for miniaturisation, the connector has a low profile of only 1,2 mm with an area of 5,29 mm². Other benefits include high-frequency performance and solder wicking prevention which is achieved with nickel barrier areas that prevent the travel of solder into the contact area. The connector is also RoHS compliant.
Plugs, receptacles and a variety of SMA conversion adapters are available within the range. These are suited for portable terminals, ETC, notebook computers, Bluetooth, wireless LAN, POS terminals, GPS terminals, PDAs and other small devices.
