International Rectifier’s IR3870M SupIRBuck is an integrated voltage regulator for applications including set-top boxes and general-purpose point-of-load (POL) DC-DC converters. The device features an hysteretic constant on-time modulator with adaptive dead-time control and on-state resistance current sensing to achieve maximum efficiency. Capable of delivering up to 10 A in environments with up to 60°C ambient temperatures, the IR3870M features diode emulation for improved light load efficiency. The device also offers a charge pump output option for enhancing the MOSFET gate drive to deliver high efficiency at medium- to full-load conditions. In addition, it has a wide input voltage range of 3 V to 26 V and can be programmed for output voltages of 0,5 V to 12 V by an external resistor divider network. The IR3870M has pre-bias startup, very precise 0,5 V reference, over- and under-voltage shutdown, power good output, and enable input with voltage monitoring capability.
