Advantech has released the PCA-6010, a PICMG 1.0 full-sized single board computer (SBC) that features mainstream Intel Core 2 Duo dual-core computing power. It is targeted at price-sensitive industrial applications requiring high-performance computing power and great expansion capability, such as automatic optical inspection (AOI), medical image processing, digital surveillance and telecommunications.
The SBC is designed with an Intel 945GC desktop chipset which supports the popular Core 2 Duo CPU with 1066 MHz FSB as well as DDR2 667 MHz SDRAM up to 4 GB. High computing power makes it suitable for today’s industrial applications that need intense image or data processing. Besides computing power, the PCA-6010 offers a high-performance GraphicsMedia Accelerator 950 graphics core with 224 MB shared memory. Advanced graphics capability makes it suitable for applications that require complex 3D/2D graphics display via a VGA port.
The PCA-6010 boasts four SATA 2 ports, providing high data transmission rates (300 MBps) and highly reliable read/write performance. The two serial ports can be used for device control applications while dual Gigabit Ethernet LANs offer strong networking capability. In addition to board-level products, Advantech also offers rack-mount and wall-mount chassis options.
