The trend towards ever higher signal densities with increasingly smaller component sizes is creating a demand for miniature connectors with high pin counts that must still fulfil the high reliability standards demanded by industry. The M8 plug connector series has been developed by Phoenix Contact to provide high pin counts that comply with such demands.
The six-pin M8 components are available in various different models. These range from ready-to-use, moulded sensor cables to matching flush-type connectors with strands. A PCB version of the M8 flush-type connector with six pins is also available for device connections. These round connectors are specially conceived for wave soldering and allow reliable signal transmission on PCBs. The housing cut-outs for these six-pin plugs and sockets are identical to those for conventional three and four-pin models. When plugged in, these connectors offer IP67 protection.
