SATA/PATA to CF converter
9 June 2010, Computer/Embedded Technology

IEI’s SAIDE-KIT01 is a conversion module that will convert either SATA or 40-pin IDE to Compact Flash.

It uses an external 4-pin 5 V power input connector to provide the power to perform the conversion process.

This solution provides high communication speed as it connects a solid state Compact Flash device to the fast bus of either SATA or PATA. The unit can be mounted using the mounting holes on the board itself or can also be mounted vertically in a slot at the rear of a PC. There is also a power LED indicator on the board to ease troubleshooting by indicating if the board is powered or not.
