Mean Well has added the new PB-230 to its AC/DC battery charger product line, a 230 W aluminium enclosure battery charger with active PFC function. Using the standard IEC320-C14 inlet as the input connector, the modules feature 90–264 V a.c. full-range input and can comply with harmonic requirements per EN61000-3-2. These chargers are suitable for all kinds of batteries, such as lead-acid, Lithium-Mn (LiMnO2), Lithium-Fe (LiFePO4) and sealed lead-acid gel.
The PB-230 series possess a three-stage charging curve (constant current, constant voltage and floating) and can monitor the battery capacity by detecting the battery voltage. The device can quickly charge the battery at constant current mode in a low battery capacity status. When the battery bank becomes full, the charger can automatically switch to constant voltage mode with slight charging current to avoid lifetime reduction caused by over-charging. Relying on its floating-charge function, the capacity can be sustained at a sufficient level to allow user access at any time.
Standard function includes front panel ON/OFF power switch, two-colour LED indicator for charging status, remote ON/OFF control, fan speed control, and short circuit, over-voltage and over-temperature protections.
