Moxa has released the V2101 series, a rugged embedded computer based on Intel’s Atom processor. With a palm size design, the computer features dual displays, low power consumption and supports -40°C to 85°C operating temperature range.
It is based on the Atom Menlow XL x86 processor and features two serial ports, dual Gigabit LAN ports, four USB 2.0 hosts and SD socket. It offers both VGA and LVDS outputs, making it well suited for industrial digital signage applications.
The V2101’s two serial ports make the system suitable for connecting a wide range of serial devices, and the dual 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports offer a solution for network redundancy, promising continuous operation for data communication and management. As an added convenience, the computer has three DIs and three DOs for connecting digital input/output devices. In addition, the SD and USB sockets provide reliability for industrial applications that require data buffering and storage expansion.
The V2101 series supports dual independent displays (VGA+LVDS) for field site monitoring. It allows users to choose several panel resolutions by using individual data bit (18-bit or 24-bit) and channel selections (single-channel or dual-channel) separately. This is convenient as users can reduce the effort and cost for the application implementation at field sites that requires different panel resolutions. This solution offers more than 64 resolution options, while the hot key design helps users to re-select the correct panel resolution when they have chosen the wrong one.
The computer runs pre-installed Linux, WinCE 6.0 or Windows Embedded Standard 2009. In addition, BIOS, middleware, sample code and tools are provided to give programmers a user-friendly environment for application development.
