Computer board harnesses Atom

7 July 2010 Computer/Embedded Technology

The GENE-9315 from AAEON is a 3,5” sub compact board which adopts the 1,6 GHz Intel Atom N270 processor. System memory is deployed with 200-pin SODIMM DDRII 400/533 MHz up to a maximum of 2 GB. In addition, the Intel 82574L supports two 10/100/ 1000Base-TX LAN ports which allow for a fast network connection. This model has an onboard Mini-PCI socket for flexible expansion.

Six USB 2.0 ports, one SATA port and one Compact Flash slot provide for a variety of storage options. Three RS232 ports, one RS232/422/485 port and an 8-bit digital I/O are also provided. The board requires a 12 V d.c. input which simplifies power management. The display of the GENE-9315 supports CRT/LCD, CRT/TV, LCD/TV, simultaneous and dual-view displays, and supports up to 24-bit dual-channel LVDS.

The board is developed to cater to the requirements of automation, medical, ticket machine, transportation, gaming, kiosk and POS/POI applications.
