Radiocrafts has expanded its product line with compact ZigBee PRO network modules (ZNM) for use in ZigBee-based mesh networks. The ZNM modules offer the complete ZigBee PRO network protocol in a small package with an easy to use API interface. They target applications like industrial sensor networks, building automation and home automation systems.
The RC2400-ZNM and RC2400HP-ZNM are compact surface-mounted modules measuring only 12,7 x 25,4 x 3,3 mm including EMC shielding. They are delivered on tape and reel for volume production. The modules have a UART or SPI interface for serial communication and configuration. The ZigBee application runs in any external controller, communicating with the module by an easy-to-use API. With only 10 API calls, a complete application can be implemented. The new modules support all features of the ZigBee PRO standard.
The ZNM modules are pre-certified for operation under the European, FCC and ARIB radio regulations for licence-free use. They operate on 16 channels in the 2,45 GHz frequency band. The RC2400-ZNM is designed for use in battery-operated systems providing a sleep mode current consumption of less than 1 μA. The RC2400HP-ZNM adds range with 100 mW output power and 119 dB system link budget.
