Panasonic’s EX-L200 range of laser sensors is made to detect minute objects with high accuracy. Despite the EX-L211's miniature size of 23,4 x 8,2 x 12 mm, it can detect opaque objects as small as 0,3 mm in diameter. A 0,5 mm light receiving slit and a laser diode with very limited beam spread make this possible. Beam alignment is made easy by reflective material on the receiver that lights red and shows the shadow of the object when aligned correctly.

The optical sensor is designed to detect miniature objects for bonding applications, chip test handlers, PCB assembly and other machines in the microelectronics industry. Recently introduced are two through-beam types with a sensing distance of 1 m or 3 m.
