SIM card connectors

Amphenol has grown its product range of connectors for mobile phones and base stations. Previously for mobile phones Amphenol's SIMLOCK and SIMBLOCK were in big use, both being products for chip and/or SIM card applications. Now I/O, battery, board-to-board and RF-switch-connectors as well as inside and outside antennas are very much part of the company's program.

SIMLOCK is designed to contact the small SIM card (subscriber identity module). It meets the GSM specification and is available with or without card detecting switch. SIMBLOCK can be used to contact small SIM cards as well as Type ID-1 chip cards. Versions with card detection switch can be used only for Type ID-1 chip cards. Mobile phones are not the only application for the SIMBLOCK as it can also be used in electronic purses, value checkers or other mobile chipcard equipment.
