Fanless embedded computer

15 September 2010 Computer/Embedded Technology

IEI’s IBX-300 is a small, fanless embedded computing system designed for applications such as digital security and surveillance systems. With a size of only 160 x 125 x 44 mm, the computer targets space critical applications requiring up to eight channels of real-time video capture at D1 resolution. The system is suitable for vehicle applications and with military operating vibration specification per MIL-STD-810F 514.5C-1, it is well suited for mobile solutions in particular.

The IBX-300 is powered by the energy-saving Intel Atom dual core D510 1,66 GHz processor and the ICH8M chipset. A monitor can be connected over the VGA interface (up to 2048 x 1536 resolution) which opens up the computer’s deployment in demanding digital signage applications. The system features 1 GB built-in DDR2, one x Gbit LAN, four x USB, one x RS232 and one x PCIe (reserved for WLAN). It also comes with a 2,5” SATA HDD as well as one x mic in and one x line out interface.

The computer supports operation from 12 V d.c. and can be desktop, wall or VESA mounted.
