PCB marking units

New marking units from Ingun are used to mark ‘good’ tested printed circuit boards. They are powered by means of compressed air: an electrical impulse signal activates a free positional solenoid valve. The applied compressed air is then passed onto the drive unit of the marking unit. The engraving tool receives a combined rotating/stroke movement, is then pushed against the PCB and marks it.

The compact design of the marking unit allows space-saving assembly in the test fixture. The separation of the drive unit and the marking unit itself minimises the influence of electromagnetic interference both on the PC board as well as in regard to the measurement signal. The marking unit must be installed at a right-angle to the surface that is to be marked. The assembly can be carried out either with the use of the outside thread (MF 16x1), by using the shaft (diameter 4,5 mm) or by using the two threaded holes (M2) on the top side of the housing.
