PCB power connector

Tyco Electronics’ new Stacked ICCON power connector aims to increase power densities in high-end data and telecommunications equipment. With a current carrying capacity of 50 A in a compact footprint, the connector provides a quick-connect/disconnect function for space constrained motherboard-daughterboard, cable-board and board-busbar power delivery applications. The stacked configuration provides two ports vertically stacked to preserve real estate on the board.

ICCON connectors use Tyco’s CROWN BAND contacts, a multifingered spring that provides a greater surface contact area, thus ensuring small millivolt drop, minimum heat generation and very low insertion and extraction forces. Mating pin contacts are screw machined and feature silver plating.
