High-current connectors

Amphenol now offers a connector series designed to eliminate bulky and space-consuming cable glands on motors, DC inverters and converters, and other high amperage equipment. The ePower family of connectors provides electrical interconnects that meet the demanding needs of modern electrification programs in high-voltage and high-amperage applications.

Unique packaging considerations are offered to ease assembly of three-phase motors and similar equipment. Traditional assemblies ran three high-current heavy gauge wires through cable glands into the unit, resulting in large and bulky enclosures that were difficult to service. The ePower series provides an interconnect incorporating Amphenol’s proven RADSOK technology to achieve higher current ratings and lower T-Rise and contact resistance.

The ePower series provides two- and three-pin power connectors in 100 A through 500 A per contact and have the capacity for two small gauge signal contacts for HVIL (high voltage interlock) purposes. The receptacle is available with IP2X style sockets that are crimped to wire or can be terminated to an internal bus bar. The cable plugs have IP2X style crimp pins and can accommodate shielded wires.
