16 February 2011 Computer/Embedded Technology

AAEON has released a new product line of HMI touch panel computers. The first member of this series, the AHP-1081, features a compact design which makes it well suited for factory automation, home automation, POS and HMI applications.

The product features the Intel Atom N270 processor (up to 1,6 GHz) and includes DDR2 SODIMM system memory (up to 2 GB). The LCD/CRT controller has been integrated in the processor and shares system memory (up to 224 MB). This fanless touch panel unit supports two 10/100/1000Base-TX Ethernet communications to offer faster network transmission and deploys two USB 2.0 ports, one RS232 COM port, one RS232/422/485 port and one VGA port for flexible expansion. It also provides one Mini-PCI for yet further expansion.

The AHP-1081 has a slim outline of less than 50 mm and features fanless operation. It offers an efficient heat spreading design and a CompactFlash slot to provide ample storage, as well as a hard disk drive with 2,5” SATA interface for extended storage needs. The 8,4” SVGA LED LCD touch panel has an IP-65 certified plastic front panel to prevent dust and water from entering. The system offers versatile transmission approaches such as optional RFID/ WiFi.

The computer is compatible with Windows CE 6.0, Windows XP Embedded, Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Embedded Standard 7 and Linux Fedora.
