Vacuum bulb component handler

16 February 2011 Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services

The BULB-VAC from Virtual Industries is a manual vacuum tool for handling electronic components. The tool comes with 19,05 mm diameter static dissipative Buna-N vacuum cup, and operates very similarly to a tweezer.

It is used by simply squeezing the vacuum bulb, placing the soft suction cup to the part to be handled, then relaxing the squeeze to firmly grip the part. A second squeeze releases the part. The suction power generated is sufficient to lift 113 grams.

Applications for this tool include SMT parts, metal parts, plastic parts or any item with a smooth, nonporous surface that the rubber vacuum tweezer tip can seal against. It can be used with any of Virtual Industries’ rubber vacuum cups ranging in size from 9,53 mm to 19,05 mm in diameter. Naturally, the larger cups can be used to pick up larger and heavier parts.
