Supertex has introduced the FP0100, a fault protection switch with current fold-back that guards against over-current or short circuit conditions in systems’ output power supplies. The switch is suited for applications in which downstream circuit protection is needed, such as high-side switches, instrumentation and data acquisition. It features a low on-resistance of 4,0 Ω typical. The peak current allowed to pass through the switch is set by an external resistor, programmable to 260 mA. In its off state, the switch can withstand input voltages up to 100 V. The FP0100 is available in a RoHS compliant SOT-89 package.
