Advantech has introduced a new industrial portable computer product line, offering a line-up of products as well as design, manufacturing and integration services.
The product line includes ruggedised tablet PCs, handheld terminals and industrial PDAs, designed to perform in harsh environments which are subject to dirt, dust, dropping and rough handling. They are portable and lightweight in design, and functionality can be extended by way of peripheral attachments.
To ensure users’ mobility, the units are designed to be used with all types of wireless networks, including standard Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPRS/GSM cellular. They are endowed with an array of I/O connectors to extend their functionality across a variety of application demands and vertical markets. Standard peripheral options include RFID, barcode readers and magnetic strip readers.
The new product line carries several certifications, including IP54/65/67 ratings for water and dust resistance. In addition, they carry MIL-STD-461E/ MIL-STD-810F military certifications, and are stringently tested to survive 3 to 5 foot drops onto a concrete floor.
