Samtec recently expanded its high-speed edge card interface line with the addition of a PCI Express (PCIe) socket designed for right angle applications.
The new interface joins Samtec’s existing family of PCIe sockets which includes surface-mount and edge-mount designs for perpendicular and co-planar card interfaces.
Right angle PCI Express (PCIE series) sockets, like the through-hole and edge-mount versions, support one, four, eight and 16 PCIe links and accept 1,6 mm cards. These 1 mm pitch sockets have standard alignment pins and polarisation, and a rugged latching feature for card mounted retention clips. Additional PCI Express products include loop back and SerDes extenders capable of PCIe speed/protocols (PCIEC series) and high-speed PCI Express RF test probes (PCRF series).
