Microchip has expanded its 8-bit segmented LCD MCU family with five new devices combining low-cost LCD control with low power consumption. The PIC16LF190x MCUs enable the implementation of LCD into cost-sensitive, power-efficient designs such as security tokens, smartcards, medical devices, home appliances and key fobs. The devices feature sleep currents down to 20 nA and a typical active current of 35 μA/MHz. Their feature set integrates up to 14 KB of Flash program memory, up to 512 Bytes of RAM, and up to fourteen 10-bit ADC channels, as well as serial communication and the capability to drive up to 116 LCD segments.
