Transition Networks announced the introduction of two new time division multiplexing (TDM) modules for the ION platform – the x6010 series and the x6210 series. Both products are built to give service providers, cable operators, utilities and enterprises the ability to provide differentiated services across a fibre infrastructure. The x6010 series allows T1/E1 protocols to be sent over fibre, while the x6210 series includes support for DS3 – T3/E3 protocols.
The x6010 and x6210 are available as a slide-in module for the ION platform, as well as a standalone device. They are available in fixed optic models as well as SFP versions. The SFP models allow for easy integration and use of coarse wave division multiplexing (CWDM) technologies. A customer is able to change from multimode to single-mode or change the distance by switching out the SFP.
Customers can take advantage of the ION platform’s added security and management when using the ION management module (IONMM) with these two new TDM devices. The IONMM offers management VLAN capabilities, SSL/SSH, ACL rules, device configuration backup and restore, 802.1x, SNMP and a variety of other advanced features.
The x6010 and x6210 can be configured, monitored and managed remotely using the software capabilities of the ION platform or the devices can be configured locally using the DIP switches located on the physical product.
