The WPESD1-0402-xx range from Wayon are PulseClamp polymer ESD suppressors that help protect sensitive electronic equipment against electrostatic discharge (ESD). They are targeted at high-speed, high-frequency applications where low capacitance is important. The suppressors use polymer composite materials to suppress fast-rising ESD transients (as specified in IEC 61000-4-2 and MIL-STD-883C) and assist equipment to pass these standards, while adding very little capacitance to the circuit.
Features include fast response time of 0,5 ns typical, very low leakage current, a bidirectional device for placement flexibility, 0402 surface mount design for board space savings and compatibility with standard reflow procedures. Typical applications where these parts are used include high-speed Ethernet, high-speed data ports like USB2.0, IEEE1394 interface (Firewire) and Bluetooth, DVI and HDMI interface as well as set-top boxes.
