Z-Communications has developed a new RoHS compliant voltage controlled oscillator for mobile communication system applications where low power consumption and small package size are critical.
The USSP2350-LF covers the frequency range of 2300 to 2400 MHz in 0,5 to 3,0 V of tuning voltage. It comes in a surface mount package measuring 5 x 5 x 1 mm while operating off 2,7 V and drawing only 6 mA, typically. The device provides a spectral purity of -82 dBc/Hz, typically, at 10 kHz from the carrier and is designed to operate over the commercial temperature range of -20°C to 70°C.
The VCO delivers 0 ±4 dBm of output power into a 50 Ω load and suppresses the 2nd harmonic to better than -13 dBc. The USSP2350-LF is not only designed to augment any mobile radio system specification due to its low power consumption, but can enhance a PLL design due to its 1,1:1 linearity over frequency and temperature.
The USSP2350-LF is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements. It is also suitable for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.
