Panasonic is introducing the ECQUA series, a new X2 safety capacitor in a compact and high-reliability design. The series offers a guaranteed moisture resistance of 85°C, 85%, 500 hours under loaded conditions. It is produced with polypropylene film and has a patterned metallisation technology.

The special fuse function of the patterned metallisation leads to a very stable capacitance level over the capacitor lifetime and thus guarantees high reliability. ECQUA is accredited in accordance with UL/CSA and European safety regulation class X2.

The capacitors have a rated voltage of 275 V (continuous)/310 V (maximum) a.c. and a capacitance range from 0,1 to 1 μF over temperatures from -40°C to +110°C. Target applications include interference suppressors, power supplies, solar, lighting, metering and home appliances.
