Analog Devices introduced the high-performance ADMP504 featuring what it claims is the industry’s lowest-noise MEMS microphone. Delivering an SNR (signal-to-noise ratio) of 65 dBA, or 29 dBA EIN (equivalent input noise), the device provides the same SNR performance as an array of two individual 62 dB SNR microphones.
In addition, the ADMP504 provides an extended frequency response up to 20 kHz and a high PSR (power supply rejection) of 70 dBV. With this performance, it addresses the demanding requirements found in many industrial, professional audio and video conferencing applications. The microphone leverages AD’s patented MEMS technology and audio signal processing expertise and is available in a thin 3,35 x 2,50 x 0,88 mm surface-mount package.
The ADMP504 is a surface-mount MEMS microphone that is reflow solder compatible with no sensitivity degradation. The sensitivity specification of -38 dBV is well suited for many codecs and discrete signal chain components. The high SNR enables far-field audio capture applications, as well as those using multi-microphone beam-forming algorithms. Low current consumption of < 180 A with a power supply voltage of 1,6 V to 3,3 V extends battery life for portable applications.
