Southwest Microwave announced that its 1,85 mm end launch connector is now offered with a 5 mil diameter launch pin.
The high-performing connector is designed to provide low VSWR and wideband response up to 67 GHz for single-layer or multi-layer printed circuit boards where the microwave layer is on top. It is well suited for high-frequency chipset evaluation/demo boards, test fixtures and board characterisation.
The connecter provides optimum performance when board launch geometry is grounded coplanar (CPWG) or top ground microstrip. It requires no soldering and is repairable and reusable.
What’s the big deal with open pin fields?
Interconnection
The concept behind the open pin field array is that it provides many contacts that are not limited to a single role.
