Schroff supplies shielded 19” subracks kits in 3U and 6U versions with depths ranging between 235 mm to 475 mm. They are manufactured in a lightweight and robust version, and include a rear horizontal rail with insulation strip for backplane mounting.
Typical shielding performance is 40 dB @ 1 GHz, 30 dB @ 2 GHz on condition that the front is sealed with a shielded front panel. The robust version has been tested to German Railway Standard BN 411002, BN411003.
Delivered in space-saving flat packs, the parts can be simply unpacked and bolted together. The threaded inserts or EMC sealing are already pre-mounted on the horizontal rails.
Guide rails can be ordered separately, and are available in 160 mm, 220 mm and 280 mm depths. To avoid electrostatic discharges when inserting PCBs, ESD contacts are clipped into the guide rails to establish a conductive connection between the PCB and subrack-earth.
According to IEC 60297-3-101, two ESD areas are defined on the euroboard. The ESD clips on the guide rails of the europacPRO subrack allow the assembly of the following variants:
* ESD area (to bottom and top) via a complete board height.
* ESD area (to bottom/top) starts at the front from 70 mm up to the board’s end.
