Multilayer thermistors with lead-free plated electrodes

With the rapidly increasing demand for communications equipment, not only in downsizing for high-density mounting, but also now for lead-free plated terminal electrodes for environmental reasons Matsushita Electronic Components has commercialised the chip-type multilayer thermistors. These thermistors feature high heat-resistance and high reliability properties in spite of the lead-free plated terminals.
The chips have good solderability and high heat-resistance characteristics and will be offered in 0603 (1,6 x 1,6 x 0,8 mm), 0402 (1,0 x 1,0 x 0,5 mm), and 0201 (0,6 x 0,6 x 0,3 mm). Current models are available from 22 Ohm to 150 kOhm.
Applications are for temperature compensation and detection for mobile phones and other equipment.
