The DF22 from Hirose is a 7,92 mm pitch, high performance wire to PCB power connector, which has CUL and TÜV approval and can handle up to 20 A current. The DF22's high performance is achieved by using contacts made from a highly conductive copper alloy, and using crimp contacts with four contact points. Together as a system, this results in very low power losses.
The contacts can accommodate 12-16 AWG cable and are retained in the socket housing with a moulded lance. This gives greater retention in the housing, with the benefit of allowing easy removal without special tools, thus minimising the risk of damage to the contacts or housing.
Headers can be specified in straight or right angle versions featuring guideposts to ensure correct orientation on the PCB, along with fully shrouded contacts to maximise the creepage and clearance distances. The mated connectors are available in 2-5 contact positions and have a secure shrouded latch that is resistant to accidental unlatching from shock and vibration, with three colour-coded polarisation options to prevent incorrect connection.
The DF22 has a rated voltage of 1000 V, making it suitable for power supplies in almost any consumer or professional electronic device.
