mini-B USB connectors save space

The mini-B USB connectors series from Molex help save space and reduce weight. Featuring the industry-standard miniature USB interface, the mini-B connectors take up only about one-eighth the space of standard USB-B connectors, making them ideal for portable applications, including digital cameras, cellphones, MP3 players and PDAs.

This miniature series is fully compliant with current USB 2.0 specifications that enable speeds up to 480 Mbps. Features of Molex's 0,80 mm pitch mini-B USB system include 5000 cycles durability (compared to 1500 for standard USB); metal shielding and grounding fingers for EMI protection; and a detent lock for secure mating connection. The connector is rated at the same 30 V and 1,0 A as standard USB connectors. It features five circuits, with one circuit reserved for future use. Both through-hole and SMT PCB versions offer an above-board height of just 3,95 mm.
