The PE33241 from Peregrine Semiconductor is an integer-N phase-locked loop (PLL) featuring a very low phase noise figure of merit (FOM) of -230 dBc/Hz. It supports operation at 5 GHz with a 10/11 pre-scaler modulus, making it ideal for industrial and specialised transceivers, and clock generators requiring low phase noise. The PLL is also well suited for RF frequency generation; L, S and C-band synthesisers; and clock recovery in communication systems, mobile terminals, telemetry, radar and portable radios. An integrated phase detector and flexible serial or direct hard-wire interfaces provide additional design flexibility. The IC features low power consumption of only 80 mA at 2,8 V.
