RF Micro Devices’ RFSA2113 is a broadband, microwave voltage-controlled attenuator providing a complete monolithic solution in a 3 x 3 mm QFN package and operating over a frequency range of 50 MHz to 18 GHz. The chip also incorporates a new circuit architecture that offers high IP3 (+45 dBm), high attenuation range (30 dB), low DC current and a temperature compensated linear-in-dB control voltage characteristic. The attenuator’s temperature-stable operation allows for the elimination of off-chip calibration and correction circuitry, reducing both cost and DC power requirements. Applications include wireless backhaul, test instrumentation, military and satellite communications.
