Calmark has introduced the Series 125 and 126 card retainers as an economical ­approach to protecting printed circuit boards in ­applications subject to shock and vibration and with heatsinking and grounding ­requirements. They are made from rugged stainless steel, compared to the company’s Series 165/166 which are made from Alloy 10 BeCu for better thermal and electrical conductivity.

Offering conformance to DSCC 85034, the retainers have coined edges allowing smooth insertion and extraction without damage to the card. Spring fingers hold the card against the rigid side, providing damping under shock and vibration, while turned in tabs help to limit card excursion under dynamic loading. Mounting holes are offset from the card path and occur every inch, offering a choice of mounting patterns. Independent sections maximise contact with the card.
