Teledyne’s RF424 series relay is a miniature, hermetically sealed, magnetic latching relay featuring low intercontact capacitance for enhanced RF performance from DC to 8 GHz. Its low profile and small size make it ideal for applications where extreme packaging density and/or close PC board spacing are required.
Due to its minimal mass, many relays may be used to configure replacements for bulkier switching solutions at substantial savings in weight. These design features make the relay well suited for use in RF attenuators, RF switching matrices and other RF applications requiring low insertion loss and low VSWR.
The RF424 relay is suitable for applications where power dissipation must be minimised, as it can be operated with a short duration pulse and, after the contacts have transferred, no external holding power is required. Gold-plated precious metal contacts ensure reliable low-level switching.
The 424D series utilises discrete diodes for coil suppression.
