Kycon has added a high-temperature USB A-type receptacle connector with a shorter body to its product range. The company asserts that the connector is designed in such a way that its shorter body does not compromise USB characteristics and the smaller package fits into space constrained designs.
The connector’s contact area has gold plating for enhanced electrical connection, giving it 30 mΩ maximum contact resistance. Other electrical specifications include insulation resistance of 1000 MΩ minimum at 500 V d.c. and 1,5 A rated current at 30 V a.c./d.c. The connector is supplied as a through-hole PCB mount part with no flange, with a durability of 1500 cycles. It is halogen free and RoHS and REACH compliant.
