High-power LED in 3535 SMT package

The new Luxeon Q from Philips Lumileds is a high-power emitter that serves as a direct drop-in replacement for products that use the standard 3535 surface mount package. It is the first high-power LED based on the company’s flip chip die in a chip scale package (CSP) device architecture.
Measured at 85°C and 350 mA, the LED’s efficacy is 135 lm/W at 5700 K, 70 CRI and 115 lm/W at 3000 K, 80 CRI. According to the manufacturer, it is especially competitive when it’s driven harder. For instance, at 1 A, a flux of more than 300 lm at an efficacy of 102 lm/W at 85°C is achieved in neutral white at 4000 K.
The Luxeon Q takes advantage of a fully developed ecosystem for 3535 components, including a wide range of optics, to speed the time-to-market for omnidirectional indoor and outdoor luminaires. Applications include high bay and low bay luminaires, downlights, outdoor wall packs, replacement lamps and specialty luminaires.
The product line is available in CCTs of 2700 K, 3000 K and 3500 K at 80 CRI and CCTs of 4000 K and 5700 K at 70 CRI.
