The Omnetics Micro 360 Circular Series, spaced on 1,27 mm centre lines, is ideal for tight spaces and rugged environments, featuring a mated length of less than 12,4 mm.
Both the male and female contacts are shrouded by the plastic insulator which houses the contacts, ensuring that the contacts are protected both during mating and de-mating. Outer diameters range from 5,6 mm to 10,0 mm.
The connectors’ gold plated beryllium copper flex pin contacts are capable of over 2000 mating cycles. The insulators are available in 5, 12, 16 and 27 pin configurations, while the connectors themselves are available in pre-wired, solder-cup and solid straight through-hole formats.
The insulator is comprised of LCP (liquid crystal polymer); however, Omnetics also offers more ruggedised options featuring a metal housing. Metal versions are available in both a threaded and a twist lock configuration. The latter features a simple quarter turn locking mechanism, similar to those commonly used in BNC connectors. When combined with a jacketed cable, these connectors are available with a watertight seal.
In both configurations, plastic and/or metal housed, these high-density circular connectors have the ability to withstand high shock and vibrations while maintaining electrical integrity. A variety of shell materials and finishes are available. Many standard and custom options are available including bulkhead mounts, cable harnesses, specialty metals and plating.
